Petaluma, CA, January, 2004. Parmatech Corporation, a pioneer in powder injection molding (PIM) since 1973, continues to take steps in advancing quality management by announcing the upgrade to ISO 9001:2000, as well as adding Six Sigma black belts to its staff.

The ISO 9001:2000 upgrade represents a continuous effort by the company to maintain a state of the art quality system. The 2000 version of the system is more business process oriented, and is designed to help companies run more efficiently and effectively. It includes additional emphasis on continuous improvement and overall business results.

Parmatech’s focus on the improvement process, quality measurement, quality initiatives, and improvement tools is evidenced by its Six-Sigma program. This program is designed to reduce variation in processes and increase customer satisfaction. Six Sigma's goal is defined as 3.4 defects per million opportunities. With the recent graduation of two Six-Sigma Black Belts, Parmatech now boasts three Black Belts and four Green Belts in its organization, which is triple the industry average. Parmatech has embraced the Six-Sigma program due to the high volume and quality requirements of powder injection molded components.
